Spring 2026 has been an exciting and transformative period for Sportidealisten as we have continued leading the development of Center P—an innovative national collaboration aiming to rethink the future of sports facilities in Sweden.
Center P brings together seven precision sports federations:
- Archery
- Billiards
- Boule
- Casting
- Frisbee
- Minigolf
- Shooting Sports
Together, these sports share a common vision: creating more accessible, sustainable, and flexible sports environments for future generations.
Why Center P Matters
Across Sweden and internationally, many sports face similar challenges:
- Limited access to facilities
- Rising construction and operating costs
- Underutilized spaces
- Difficulty attracting new participants
Center P explores how multiple sports can coexist under one roof while maintaining their unique identities. The project aims to maximize facility usage, increase accessibility, and create stronger communities.
Rather than building traditional single-sport venues, Center P investigates how modular and scalable facilities can support:
- Grassroots participation
- Elite sports
- Para sports
- Schools and educational activities
- Community engagement
From Ideas to Strategic Frameworks
During the spring, workshops and stakeholder dialogues moved Center P from an open idea into a more structured strategic framework.
The project now focuses on two main dimensions:
1. Facilities and Shared Spaces
How can sports share spaces efficiently while respecting different needs related to safety, equipment, and scheduling?
2. Social Impact and Community Building
How can sports facilities become vibrant meeting places that strengthen public health, inclusion, and local communities?
The vision extends beyond sport itself. Future facilities should become living environments where organized activities meet spontaneous participation.
Collaboration as Innovation
One of the most valuable outcomes this spring has been building trust and collaboration between federations that historically have had limited interaction.
Creating psychological safety, shared direction, and common goals has been as important as discussing architecture and facility design.
Innovation in sport is rarely only about technology—it is equally about people, partnerships, and new ways of working together.

As Center P moves into its next phase, Sportidealisten remains committed to supporting sports organizations in creating sustainable and future-proof environments.
