The Match Day Media Relations Assistant will help oversee media relations operations at Earthquakes home matches. Match day roles include photo marshal, press box attendant, statistician, and media will call attendant, among others as necessary.
Primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee key areas of the club’s media relations game day operations
  • Assist members of the media to ensure a smooth and enjoyable work experience
  • Work in collaboration with the Communications Director and Communications Coordinator to solve problems that may arise
  • Knowledge of soccer, the San Jose Earthquakes, and Major League Soccer
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capability to manage assignments from start to finish without direct supervision
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work at least 75% of all home matches during the remainder of the 2021 season, including non-league competitions, which primarily take place at PayPal Park but may take place at different venues throughout the Bay Area
  • Punctuality and professionalism
  • Prior experience in sports preferred, but not required
